My thoughts about the life in Mumbai and my experience.
I was in Mumbai for a year till a year back. Now I'm back in 'Mumbai', this time the scenario around me is a mix of Bombay (a bit more) and Mumbai (a bit less); so the name Bombai.

I got up in the bus at 10.30. The atmosphere has changed. The coldness and the dryness in the air has vanished. the Sun is up but not blazing. I'm definitely in the Navi Mumbai. feels nice, good roads, beautiful railway stations and moderately disciplined traffic.
Good lazy day ahead, India England match, so I'm not leaving tai's place once I enter it.

I left the place at 8.30, Sun wasn't up. But atmosphere's too humid, cool though. I like that about Mulund, it's much less hot round the year. Punched the coupons and entered 2nd class of the fast local train to Dadar. Lot of discussion about the India-England tie, I'm sure the match was fixed BTW. Changed line at Dadar and reached the office before time. Felt again: Local trains are awesome!
Everything's ready for me in the office, the desk, laptop, joining docs, everything. HR's approach is positive, proactive and organized! Totally different from HDFC's. I'm loving it already. Went through the joining formalities and the training and left the office by 7.30. Fantastic first day. I'm happy.

I've to get the first class pass for the local travel asap. Not just the 2n class in the local trains but the platforms are very crowded too. From tomorrow leaving very early everyday to avoid the rush. Anyway my training begins at 9 AM everyday, thanks to the boss whose work piled up due to his Paternity leave, congrats to him for the fatherhood! This reminds me, have to really try hard and the best to maintain a good balance between the work life (performance etc) and personal life (family, friends, fun, health etc).
Left office very early to check the Gym, it's good. Gonna start from tomorrow. Also, met a friend and booked the pass. Plans well executed for the day.

Mumbaiyya life and mumbaiyya food has it's own charm. Much praised and louded time and again my many people through so many mediums, it just continues to delight me. Last time when I was in town area with my best friend; Crystal was a delightful find. This time we went to Mainland China in Bandra to celebrate my niece's 1st job appointment and Golly! The food was such a delight! Simply loved it!
A word of advice, if you can travel by the local train before 8.30 AM and after 8.30 PM. It's so much fun to travel calmly by a non-crowded local train! Looking forward to traveling in a Metro though. Very soon. . .

My first day at Gym after almost 6 years. Loved it!!! Did cardio-exercises. Stretched myself, ran for 30 minutes in 2 sets, did a 20 min cycling (burnt around 300-400 calories), did some 50 odd crunches etc, sweated a lot, got dead tired; in short - was DELIGHTED!!! Walking back to Curry Road station and then to home from Mulund station was a real tough task though ;)

Another day at gym and suddenly I felt.. Am I too thin? Just then realized, mirrors make you look that way ;) also, all the people around in the Gym were either bulky or muscular,; hmmm, so a long way to go for me. Enjoyed the workout with weights though, worked out that way after a looooooong time!

While traveling there's so much you can do! I realized today the FUN in tweeting, rather following 'right' people. So? A major re-shuffling is bound to happen soon. Tried posting from the cell-phone but somehow couldn't finish posting. I need a good blogging app for my E51. But then I guess there isn't any :(

Met Nikhil, my best buddy from college after a long time and had a great time in Bhandup. Was sleeping / tweeting / watching TV (Matches, stupid movies etc) all day. Full-ON fun! A Fantastic way to spend the only off day in a week. Looking forward to next weekend; planning a small trek then, let's see.

2 special things for today:
1. Reached home early enough to get the time to think and to decide - I've to find a place on Western line, close to the office. So starting the hunt for a place from tomorrow.
2. Today's Dada's b'day! Happy birthday bro :) Miss you.

Celebrated women's day with all the ladies (mostly girls) in the office. Later in the day they went out to have a gala time, looking HAPPY! Priceless expressions, even as they were teasing us guys for not being invited to the party :) I missed my camera... again!

Loving my life and work. It's not everyday that I get to twist my mind in different ways! :)

HOME!!! Getting a 'home' in Mumbai is a damn tricky task. Not difficult, tricky. You can get a house, it's not a big deal really, you just need the money. To get a home you need people in it. An individual can't treat a place as a Home unless there's someone there to share it with; friends, family, anyone! else it's just a 'room'.
Point: searching for a place as of now, also gonna search for roommates simultaneously. I love Dadar - Prabhadevi area, close to office and quite similar to Pune, people and food-joints wise, plus in the heart of the city. Let's see!

I KNEW IT!!! We'll, there're people who told me that 'we knew it that you wouldn't write everyday!' and were looking / sounding very happy while saying this. I'm just reciprocating their feelings.
So last 1 week was pretty good. Friday (11th) was busy, and prolonged. For the first time caught a bus to Pune from mumbai central.. BIG MISTAKE! Not was it just a painfully long journey, 3 hours to leave Mumbai and then 3 more to reach Pune, but also the bus left me at Chandani Chowk. So there was a lot of sleep-walking to be done. So reached home at 0030 hrs on 12th.
12th started in a great way; went for the b'fast with my favourite people, the MMB group. After getting back home I got to spend the entire day in a highly lazy fashion watching a thrilling India- SA match.
13th started early, pretty early, Very early, at 0330 hrs. Had to leave home for trek (why else'd I be so enthusiastic? ;) ) Went to Kurdugad, which I must admit, we'd totally underestimated, difficulty-level-wise. It was fairly tough to climb (and equally easy to climb down). It was beautiful, had some strange similarity with Helm's Deep in LOTR 2. Photos coming on FB soon. Got back to Mumbai on the same day. Then 2 busy and happening days at office, and here I am!
Life's caught Speed; the best thing I get in this town, and the main thing I love about this metro! :) More on that.. soon.

Job's catching up the speed. So less time on blog n more in the field now on :) Still, I'll keep updating as and when things come up. Let's see; most IMP: WCup going on, I hope India wins in the final

India meets Pakistan today in the Semi-final. SL already in the final. Such huge opportunity this is for the businesses and betting, I hear official figures are 1 lac crore involved in betting. My guess: More than a Crore Crore. How many zeros is that? Won't bother counting, it's too much (14).
So it's today and on 2nd it's Cricket Carnival !!!
awdya.....
