A Sniper's Death

There was once Forrest, a feeble little child,
Who was very scared of the animals in the wild

A chronic case of Agrizoophobia
He developed a jungle-nausea

Oh, did I tell you? There was Michael, his brother
Whose favourite movie was Disney's "Flubber"

A geek, a gifted scientist since his childhood
Brain all developed, as a mortal man's could

They were so merry and they were growing up
Strong & smart so much, seldom they'd hookup

They passed out of school, oh; career time!
Forrest chose Sports (boxing) and Michael: Science-line

Once they came home from the college, entered with a roar
To find their father, an Army Sniper, shot dead on the floor

A brave man, a man of courage, principles and discipline
Each of the boys were proud to be their dad's kin

Dead, was their dad, the only other guy they'd completely trust
Truth was so bitter, and with it they could not simply adjust

Dad was a cunning, fierce fighter, Dad had killed many men
Dad wouldn't die this easily! His death shouldn't go in-vain

Slowly returning to the reality, their brains started to work
"Who'd kill dad?" they analyzed without going berserk

They talked to dad's colleagues, them fighters from the army
Listed down all, then shortlisted, every worst possible enemy

Michael carried the forensic study, the way his dad was killed
And ascribed the results it to him, who was that much skilled

Forrest held his dad's rifle the old man had proudly used
"You must learn to shoot son!" dad seldom said. Oh! Why'd he refused?!

'Now's the time, I'll kill that son of a bitch' he thought of revenge
"I'm coming with you brother" Mike said, and they left for the range.

. . . to be continued
